EVERYONE NEEDS - A Red Midi Skirt
This bright red skirt from Asos is my new favourite thing. It's a cotton / polyester mix (the poly is there so the pleats stay in), the elastic waist band is soft and comfortable (pass the cake) and the length and fullness are fab. I ordered the size 14 and it was too big, so sized down to a size 12. I almost think I could take the 10. So, if you're a 20 or 22 then give the size 18 a try. Oh and it's £30, bargain.
I worn mine with flats and a t-shirt for the Social Butterflies event in Bristol recently, and then with a cami and denim jacket to a BBQ. I'm planning to wear it with heels and a silk cami just as soon as I get the chance, it's just so versatile. The only thing that could make it better would be the addition of some pockets, but you can't have it all.
I'm 5'4 and you can see that it's pretty long on me, so I'm thinking that one someone who is around 5 foot it would be more of a maxi length.
I tried mine with the People Tree "Equality" T-shirt, illustrated above on a size 8. I don't really suit high neck fitted T's with something written across my chest (hello boys) but if you do then I can recommend this. They are a great company whom I've followed for years and the quality of the fabric is great.
I'm hoping that one day brands will shoot garments on a variety of diverse models, but until then I've decided to illustrate pieces that I love on a variety of shapes and sizes. I created the above artwork with a mix of pencil, watercolour, gouache and ink.
I'd love to know what you think of this post, please leave a comment below.
