I love pointed shoes, heels with an ankle strap, very plain trainers and strappy flat sandals. Whilst I lack diversity in the shape I wear (NO flatforms NO platforms NO chunky heel NO round toe NO crazy trainers NO buckles NO mules NO slides NO slippers etc) I do love a bright colour or pattern.

Above is an illustration of three that I seem to have on rotation right now. The spotted kitten heels were a gift from Hobbs last year, the pom pom sandals a recent addition from Boden (thanks guys!) and the rose gold metallic flats I bought from La Paire about 3 years ago. These statement shoes are all great with jeans and then work with dresses too.

I find that as my calves and thighs are quite shapely, that chunky heels don't do much for me (it also doesn't help that I don't walk very elegantly!). I'd much rather give the illusion of a longer leg by wearing pointed toes, or drawing attention to my ankle with a little strap. It doesn't matter so much then when I walk like Hagrid from Harry Potter.

I don't often buy new shoes as I tend to invest in ones that will last and my taste doesn't ever really change. However when I do next splash out I'll be sure to share details here. Please do comment below, I'd love to know which of these are your favourite.
