I'm writing this on a Thai beach. The humidity has fashioned my hair into something resembling a rogue catherine wheel caught in a net of candy floss, and my pink skin in to a permanent water feature. It's stormy, it's tropical and even my bikini feels like too many clothes.

But in just over a week I'll be heading back to Blighty after a month in Asia, and am well aware that I'm going to be worshipping this duffle coat with all of my might. It ticks all of my boxes for a casual winter coat. It has huge pockets, it's a warm wool mix, has a cosy faux fur hood and it's a good price too for something so well made.

I've got short arms and quite narrow shoulders compared to the size of my boobs, so it makes coats a difficult buy. I went for a size 14 and it's quite roomy, perfect for layering over thick jumpers (and scarves and hot water bottles and rouge cats). The arms are still too long for me but that's a bonus really as will cover that gap where jumper meets gloves.

It comes in 3 colours and a multi check and is £180. I went for mid grey but you could choose Melon Crush or Solstice Blue as illustrated above (what delicious names hey - hmmm maybe it's time for a watermelon smoothie?).

My perfect walking-to-work outfit....

I'm hoping that one day brands will shoot garments on a variety of diverse models, but until then I've decided to illustrate pieces that I love on a variety of shapes and sizes. I created the above artwork with a mix of pencil, watercolour, gouache and ink. Do follow me on Instagram as I'm often found painting on stories.

I'd love to know what you think. Please let me know in the comments below.
